Paradise Garden : A Pictorial Eden

Paradise Garden. Painted Eden was a solo exhibition by Soviet and Russian artist, graphic artist, jeweler, and sculptor Vladimir Kordiukov (1953–2009), presented at COLLEZIONE Art Gallery in Novosibirsk on 19 June 2025. The exhibition brought together 28 paintings and graphic works created between 1991 and 2007, exploring the idea of Eden as a space of beauty, abundance, and harmony.

The works brought together portraits, still lifes, and figurative compositions in which the human body, nature, and everyday surroundings exist within an idealized space. The idea of Eden runs through the exhibition as a vision of beauty and pleasure, while Kordiukov's figures appear calm and self-contained. His pastel works were particularly distinctive, combining a loose, expressive brushstroke with precise colour relationships.

The exhibition opening included a musical performance by saxophonist Bogdan Kharchenko, presented in collaboration with the Union of Young Composers, as well as a visual performance featuring a bright yellow snake, referencing the biblical story of Eden. A curator-led tour by Anna Galeeva introduced visitors to Kordiukov's artistic language and the ideas behind the works.

COLLEZIONE Art Gallery is the principal representative of Vladimir Kordiukov's artistic legacy in Russia. The gallery presents his works through exhibitions and publications and provides access to selected works for collectors.
